The Giants of Mandurah

Hidden from sight, but not too difficult to find, is an amazing array of Giants, just waiting for you to visit and enjoy.

Created by the World renown reuse artist, Thomas Dambo, to showcase the environment, reuse of materials and, quite possibly just to entertain the masses. These Giants all have their own story to tell.

First off you just have to visit the Mandurah Visitors Centre to chat with the very helpful staff. They will happily start you off on your magically day of wandering around, hidden gems, corners of mystery and finally the views worth chasing.

Of course it is not just the Giants they know about, very knowledgeable and very helpful. Well worth the visit.

Of course, due to leaving everything to the last minute, we only managed to see three of the five local Giants.

The one in Perth was never really on our radar. The first one we missed due to maintenance issues on the artwork and number five, well don’t really have an excuse.

Needless to say, I can’t recommend this local adventure to most travellers. Some of the access points may not lend themselves well to mobility challenged travellers. The information package provided does give some indication on accessibility conditions and suggestions. So definitely check that out before embarking on your visit.

We spent probably around 4 hours, dawdling around looking at these remarkable statues, and by no means can we say we were pressed for time. You will need a vehicle though to get from one to the next.
